DAILY REPORT.

Paulin Bentley II. - B-27-LE.

Fitted standard I.5/8 carburetters, manifold and air silencer for test on Montlhéry Track.

Tested out several higher rated springs for increasing oil pressure when hot.

Dismantled oil pump and inspected, O.K. Replaced with stronger spring on relief and checked oil feed to rockers, O.K.

Dismantled front cowling and removed front cold air intake lead and replaced foglamp and cowling.

Rear brake drums dismantled and N.S. found cracked. Replacements requested on phone (Sr.) Trouble traced to hand brake shoes.

Dampers were set up in loading prior to track work and attribute brake failure to standard setting being subjected to track work.

Rear axle travel over the rough at Montlhéry caused the hand brake shoes to foul and heat up. This was discovered on inspection at Rue Gide Depot and the brake failure is not due to servo.clearance as previously reported.

More clearance was made for the 6.50 x I9" rear tyres after the N.S. had fouled the tread.

An inch of packing is being fitted under each rear buffer rubber for further safety.
