X.682 - RE 7 C.A. CAR.

This car is at present being overhauled and the bearings in the engine are being done up. When the engine is completed we suggest putting it on a test bench before it is put back into the chassis. We can on there, obtain an accurate H.P. and consumption curve; we shall also be able to see how the distributor is with the new pipes. It will be interesting to run the car engine on the test bench after the experience we have gained with the aero engine. There are being prepared some pistons to give higher compression.

The car when finished will have the following improvements:-

X.2369B 1. Aluminium Zephyr type pistons with long skirt, 6 narrow rings and 1 scraper. Compression will be as high as we can use and still obtain absence of detonation and vibration.
X.2937A 2. Camshaft with cams similar to Eagle.
X.2938. 3. Lightened chromium valves 30º seats.
X.2939A. 4. New divided induction pipes.
X.2768. 5. Large throttle and larger carburetter.
6. With no balance weights.
7. Lightened slipper wheel- We shall make tests to get this as light as possible.
X.2903 8. 12 volt coil.
X.2641. 9. Starter motor. with new push button switch.
10. Priming device.
11. Oil retaining clutch.
