To Mr. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c.c. to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c.c. to C. Ex. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} ANC. (Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}) Mr. JLE.{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} 1204. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/IW.6.1.37. Confirming our conversation, owing to the greatly increased Aero production testing, which carries with it increased aero engine service, it has been agreed that you shall be relieved of final chassis testing. From January 11th, 1937, Mr. Ax. will be solely responsible for chassis testing and quality. You will make it a part of your duties personally to test production cars of all types when it is convenient to yourself and Mr. Ax. and will send in a monthly report to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and myself, giving our opinion on the quality of cars which are being delivered. The object of this is that we still wish to retain your expert knowledge and experience of motor cars, but we do not wish you to run a special department for this. The final tests at Coachbuilders will be carried out by Fim., and he will be responsible for all coachbuilding final tests, both in London and the provinces. He will be responsible to C.E. as at present. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
