The S.U. Carburetter Co.,
East Works,
Bordesley Green Road,
Adderley Park,
Birmingham.

For the attention of Mr. Skinner.

Dear Sirs,

Thank you for your letter with reference to the thin pieces of sheet aluminium, which you asked me about on my last visit.

I have taken the matter up with our metallurgist here, and he recommends that you write to High Duty Alloys Ltd., Slough, Bucks., on the subject.

He says that they will supply you with sheet material which has been subjected to heat temperature treatment (520C.) and quenched. It is then ready for working.

If they cannot supply the thickness you want you can get a bit of their standard sheet rolled down for Experimental purposes.

After working the sheet will be subjected to the lower temperature treatment i.e. heating to 170C, which will harden it.

I am sorry we have no material of the thickness you require.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
