Re: CHASSIS 3.AZ.34 - Mr. FITZ AUCHER
------------------------------------

The above owner telephoned to our Showrooms late on Wednesday afternoon to say that he had been in communication with Messrs. Rolls Royce of London owing he said to overheating trouble having developed on the way from Boulogne to Amiens, he informed us that he was then advised to get into touch with us so that we could at once send a man to attend to the trouble. He informed our Showrooms that he would continue his journey from Amiens to Soissons at a reduced speed. He requested us to sent a man to Soissons, which is about 100 Kms. from Paris, as quickly as possible so that our man could meet him there.

We at once sent mechanic HILT in company with Driver ANTOINE in chassis B.60.GA to Soissons and they arrived there at about 8 PM. HILT remained with the owner and Driver Antoine returned the same evening to Paris with our car.

Please find attached a copy translated of Hilts report dated the 14th. inst. which will be found to be self explanatory.

Although according to the owners statement that during his run from Boulogne to Amiens the reading of the thermometer was about 95° C. We think that he may have unnecessarily got the wind up. Of course things might have been worse had it been a hot day. It may be that the radiator is partly silted up. Will 'HD{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}' please let us know whether the radiator on this car is the early type or a reconditioned MARK V.{VIENNA} type.

We have this morning received a telegramm from the owner reading :

MY ADDRESS LAUSANNE PALACE HOTEL . LAUSANNE .

We take it from the above that he had no trouble on his run from Troyes to Switzerland.

We do not know whether there is a Derby man at present in Switzerland, if there is, then we think that he should be instructed to call upon Mr. Fitz Aucher so that he can tighten down the cylinder head etc.. We hope that the owner will not experience overheating trouble in Switzerland.

Will you please let us know to whom we are to debit our expenses in connection with our mans visit to Soissons etc...
