To HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} X.4555 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M4.6.24. DIPPING HEAD LIGHTS. X.4555. Mr. Royce is bringing the matter up of dipping head lights of RR. design, and would like to know whether you have a car on which they are fitted that we could again submit to Sales. It will be remembered their criticisms were their dislike of rope operation, and a coil spring round the torsion shaft (Not very important features). On the model we saw however the angle of dip was insufficient, and we think a dip angle which moves the top rim of the lamp 2 1/4" forwards should be provided, as this is what Barkers give with their design.
