V4698 To WM. from HDY. {William Hardy} HDY. {William Hardy} 4/HP.6.6.34. c.c. Mr. E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} W. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Mr. RHO. Damper Governor Unit. The School of Instruction have pointed out that the plug which closes the top of the air chamber may be mistaken for a filling plug. To avoid this possibility we suggest that either the plugging should be done with aluminium rod sawn off, rivetted over and filed flush, or if this is not good enough to hold air at 30 lbs.sq.in. without leakage, a similar plug to the one now used may be made in aluminium with an extension for screwing in which is afterwards sawn off.
