In light of recent experience we find that my earlier impression that the Dunlop detachable wire wheels to our dimensions were better than the Rudge-Whitworth wheel, seems to be confirmed, and if we can get these at the same price we think it will justify the slightly greater complication of their construction which was my chief reason for desiring to part from them. It will be remembered that our experience with these wheels to our own dimensions and proportions have given every good satisfaction on the 40/50 which is a trying ordeal owing to the large weight carried. We have not had much experience with the R.W. type. We feared that their automatic lock would be difficult to get tight, and would either not be tight, or would be so tight, that you could not get it off. Some of these conclusions are proving themselves to be true. I thought however I must be over-faddy as the Delage was using them very much in France. "e find however on the Delage here that they have given trouble with creaking and several attempts have been made to get them tight enough to prevent this which has finally resulted in a thorough greasing to stop them making a noise. This is unsatisfactory as the Delage we have here has been very little used and is only fitted with a very light body. The Dunlop wheels returned from France on No.4. Goshawk "e found to be quite satisfactory, but we do not know how often then these were last tightened. | ||
