X4425 Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from ROY. {Sir Henry Royce} C_ to HY. {Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} ------- ROY {Sir Henry Royce} 15/AG14.3.23 ------- Hereunder please find extract from communication to hand this morning from Messrs. Andre re Hartford Shock Absorbers. Kindly advise if you have any comments. ROY. {Sir Henry Royce} [Signature] ------- "This delivery will complete all the orders we have on hand for you, and we shall be glad to receive further instructions as promised when the writer last visited you, so that there may be no delay in delivery, in the event of your requiring further quantities at short notice, and as we have already pointed out all Shock Absorbers supplied to you are put through our Works specially, and are not drawn from our regular standard production." "The writer would also be glad to know whether your Engineers have tested the experimental progressive type Shock Absorber, which we submitted for your examination, and in connection with this matter, you will, no doubt, be interested to hear that we have perfected a design for a double action progressive type, and you may remember that we discussed the question as to whether it was necessary to incorporate the double action on the progressive type, and though we do not think that for ordinary general use, this is necessary, as stated above, we have developed a special model, and will send you drawings showing the design for your examination and approval." "We should be extremely obliged if you would not mention the fact that we are developing a progressive type of Shock Absorber just at present, to anyone, as it is not our intention to place this type on the market this Season, but we would, of course, be prepared to manufacture a special model of this type for your goodselves, in the event of your deciding to adopt this design, according to your requirements." ------ | ||
