Re body booming: We have to-day carried out the test for body booming. We do not know whether you are aware that the metal plates for locating the body side ways had been removed and discs of rubber had been fitted between the brackets and the frame. We have however removed the outer plates and bolts and the bottom resting lug, then fitted the rubber blocks as per your sketch between the rear bracket and the frame. Result: We cannot appreciate the slightest difference in the body booming. We have tried this all ways, but cannot get any appreciable result.

General engine noise: The general engine noise is made up with the following on this car: Tappet knock, Valve springs swish, slight piston knock, very poor side shaft, ball race noise from clutch trunnion, engine gears whine, carburetter altogether too noisy. These features all require attention. There is no sign as yet of the servo squeaking. We have found that a bad squeak and grinding noise came from the speedometer drive.

Front axle: We have again been in communication with Paris re the front axle. They informed me they had been in communication with you at Derby and a telegram from you was read to me over the phone, saying that front short hub on front axle was correct. Paris have only got cars with the short hub on at the Coachbuilders, and do not like disturbing them. However, I shall know by Monday morning what decision they have made.

Other tests will follow.
