BENTLEY V.{VIENNA} - STEERING WHEEL.

In view of our recent experiences on various parts on the steering, I am satisfied we cannot schedule the new wheel for production.

The new scheme involves:-

(a) A new design untried in this country.
(b) A new firm making the wheel.
(c) A new method of fixing the wheel.

I was wrong in giving way at the last discussion with yourself, Leslie and RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} I was right in my contention that it demanded serious testing. I am therefore issuing instructions to schedule the B.II. wheel but with the small rim as on earlier series, but with straight spokes and with larger tubes to bring the rim into correct relation to driver.
