To BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer}

MODIFIED H.T. PICK-UP FOR WATFORD EO6 MAGNETO.

My assistant reports as follows :-

"Considerable trouble had been experienced with the H.T. pick-up carbon brush sticking in the holder causing burning of the bakelite moulding.
Messrs. North have since produced this H.T. pick-up moulding in ebonite and have modified the carbon brush by cutting a small clearance space to prevent seizing in the holder.
One of these modified pick-ups has now completed a 10,000 mile test on chassis 8-EX with entirely satisfactory results.
Examination showed that the carbon brush was working perfectly freely in the holder.
We have verified that this modified H.T. pick-up is now being fitted to standard EO6 magnetos on production."
