The British Thermostat Co. Ltd.,
Teddington Works,
Windmill Lane,
Sunbury-on-Thames,
Middlesex.

For the attention of Mr. Martin Hurst.

Dear Sirs,

Referring to our conversation of Saturday last (Sept. 4th.) in which your Mr. Martin Hurst expressed the opinion that the failures which we had had with your thermostat bellows was directly attributable to their having been made experimentally instead of in your production dept. - we would like you to send four thermostat units to your drawing BGA.2073A, except for the following modifications:-

(1) Dia. of valve head - 1 3/8"
(2) Opening temperature 80°c ± 1°c.
(3) Full open temperature at or below 90°c.
(4) No ball valve cap to be fitted and no bleed hole whatever to be provided for these experimental units we will ourselves drill the bleed holes.
(5) Unit not to be plated.

These units should be made up as far as possible in your production lines and must represent the exact article which we shall use for standard production.

We require these units at the earliest possible moment - if you can send one in advance of the others we would like you to do this.
