CORROSION OF CYLINDER HEAD TUBES.

Several cases of water in the crankcase have been traced to corrosion of the aluminium cylinder head tubes.

Tubes are now available in Nickel plated Copper which should be used for replacement.

General experience has shewn that, if the cooling water in a car has been boiled frequently, due to a choked radiator such as we had on some of the small gap matrix Phantom ll's it is advisable to change the cylinder head tubes, as when exposed to steam they oxidise very rapidly.
