To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} X3499. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}6/MJ.18.12.30. THERMOSTATS. We have recently received an alternative filling for thermostats from Messrs. Smith & Sons. This filling is specified as 'H' on the curves attached. It will be noticed that the advantage of the 'H' filling is that, while the normal running temperature of the car will be the same as with the 'B' filling, the reserve of power in the thermostat at the higher temperature to overcome shutter friction is very considerably greater than filling 'B'. We therefore consider that we should utilise filling 'H' as soon as our existing supplies of filling 'B' are exhausted. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} | ||
