Dear Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer},

I am sorry I did not get down to the track in time to see you, but I was just about to leave the office at 11.0 a.m. when your wire arrived, and as it was obvious I could not get down there before 11.45 a.m. I did not worry to come but tried to get hold of you at the track.

After ringing the track I found that it was to be virtually closed for the next two days for practicing for next Saturday's race, and so I presumed that this was the main reason for the alteration in your plans. If you have a chance to come down before I sail on the 13th May I will be pleased to meet you there.

With kind regards,

Yours sincerely,
F.R. Banks.
