X5520. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/M7.12.29. 20 HP. REAR SHOCK DAMPERS. X.5520. Herewith we send N. scheme 2995. shewing the application to the 20 HP. rear damper of the spring connecting rod shown on N. scheme 2994. The details are the same except for the length. It will be seen that the lower end of the rod is rather close on the ground clearance. R.{Sir Henry Royce} agrees to it being tried thus experimentally. Should it be decided to standardise it we shall send you a revised scheme with some more clearance.
