C.J. (2) 27th Sept. 1910 COPY C.J. to C.C.[?] (Original sent.) speed and there is no reason why this conclusion should not be right. We now propose to go to 27## cubic inches as near as we can possibly work. This will make the engines very smooth at slow speeds and should considerably reduce the tendency to crankshaft rattle at the higher speeds. - and, moreover, it will be very advantageous when we consider the chirping, the carburization and the heating of the water. The gauge readings should then be about 57 lbs. above atmosphere. At such low compression, little or no carbon should be formed in the cylinder with ordinary road work. It would also be O.K. with cool water on the dynamometer. [Signature] R | ||
