OBJECT OF TEST.
BUMPING TEST ON EAC.11. CHASSIS
'W' SERIES APPROX:

TESTER.
C. Parkinson.

CONDITIONS.
Standard bump test conditions.

SUMMARY OF TEST.
For this test we used the 1" wider Frame & Fittings.
This was built for the first proposed EAC.11. We consider this test represents 'W' series EAC.11. as regards :-

1. Engine suspension.
2. Steering and fittings and mounting.
3. Radiator and mounting.
4. Front cross member.
5. Radius rods were fitted.
6. 45" front springs were fitted.

The results of this test shews the following points :-

(a) That the 45" front springs fail in about the same time as the original Firths springs. This test confirms the improvements made in the latest springs.

(b) The frame failure is at a fresh place - it would suggest that the new cross member localised the stress. It will be necessary to test other frames before any definite conclusions can be made.

Further tests are in progress.
