The failure of a 4.H.S. gearbox and requesting its rebuild with a list of required new parts.

GEARBOX 4.H.S.

This gearbox failed owing to the nut at the front end of the side shaft coming undone, causing failure of the roller bearing which then had to take the thrust.

Will you please rebuild the box replacing any damaged parts and also fit the following three new pieces:-

(1) 2nd. speed bronze cone.
(2) Pair of 1st. speed gears.
(3) The bearing at the rear of the 3rd. motion shaft.
(4) If available Scheme Ex.27546/7.
We are asking for Nos. 1 and 2 to get information on the corrosion from the latest type of E.P. oils.
