On the test results of a thermostat bellows for extra cylinder lubrication.

We have tested the rating of the thermostat bellows for the extra cylinder lubrication. The attached curve Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}731 shows the results. It will at once be apparent that there is no set up load whatever on this bellows, and therefore there is no chance of getting a spring inside to improve the opening characteristic as we had hoped. We are therefore left with little or no hope of improvement until we get a larger bellows operated by the oil temperature, or a smaller bellows in the cooling water.
