WRAITH 111 and BENTLEY 111. TAPPETS AND PUSH RODS.

Please receive herewith blueprints of
E.CD.795 Modified Camshaft and Barrel Type Tappets. B.111.

In order to reduce the amount of whip in the push rods, we have shortened them by 1.950" by using a tappet of similar design to those propose for the B.60 and Phan.lll. engines with the push rod cup at the top of the tappet instead of in the base.

The combined weight of the new tappet and push rod is approximately ½ oz. less than the present parts.

We have shown the new tappets vertical with flat base for use with the narrow offset cams; if it is required to test the shorter push rod on an engine with inclined tappet bores, the face of the tappet will require coning to suit.

The water jacket tubes through cylinder head are as called for on E.CD.775.

Will you please detail and instruct experimentally as soon as possible, as we are experiencing trouble on the B.3 engines due to push rods rubbing on the water jacket tubes in the cylinder head.
