EPICYCLIC 3rd. SPEED GEARBOX REVISED.

X.7310
X.5310.
X.523.

Herewith we send N. sch. 3160. giving further particulars of the box, namely, the change speed tower, speedometer drive, and the back cover.

It will be noticed that there are slight modifications on this scheme as compared with N. sch. 3150., which N. sch 3160 supersedes as far as these modifications are concerned.

We may also mention that as regards the facings for carrying the brake countershaft the one not shewn, namely that carrying the suspension link and servo bridge, should be 5.5 from the centreline instead of the 5.3 indicated on N. scheme 3150.

With reference to the middle joint of the gearbox it is necessary to have 2 fitting bolts as dowels. We should like you to arrange the 2 on the horizontal diameter to be say .015 larger in diameter than the remainder, and parallel reamed.
