HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X.3908 BY9/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 8.6.27. BAFFLE OVER REAR SILENCER. On the standardization sheet under which the above proposal has been sent out for signature, the reason for the standardization has been given "to overcome complaints". This remark is being misread by Sales, who were under the impression it meant it should only be used to overcome customers' complaints, an entirely different matter. We pointed out to Sales that we thought the issue was quite clear, that your description was the reason why the scheme had been started at all, but they say they would like a note sending to everybody, making plain that it was intended for general application on all chassis as soon as it was passed.
