R.R. 493A (40 H) (SL 42 12-7-23). J.H., D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} EXPERIMENTAL REPORT. Expl. No. 9940 REF: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/LG15.2.24. WORST WEAR HERE .018" .009" .007" .002" Wear on wrapping shoe after absorbing 21 HP.hrs. at 300 R.P.M. As the inequality of wear on the non-wrapping shoe was very much worse than this, we substituted a standard shoe on that side for road tests. The efficiency of the wrapping jointed shoe used alone is fairly high; when a nonwrapping shoe is introduced however, much of the increased efficiency is lost. We are completing comparative tests between standard, floating fulcrum and jointed brakes, both on the road and on the test rig. We cannot see, at the moment, many possibilities for a jointed non-wrapping shoe. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
