r1918b Expl. Dept. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 6/MJ. April 18th.1932. Major Carington, K.L.G. Sparking Plugs, Ltd., Robinhood Engineering Works, Putney Vale, LONDON.S.W.15. Dear Major Carington, We have now run tests on your two 14 mm. plugs LK. {L. King} 1 and S.5. We find that the LK. {L. King} 1 plug is not very much use for our purpose as it preignites too easily. We should say it is inferior to our Standard 18 mm. K.1 plugs in this respect. With regard to the S.5 plug, this seems to be just about as effective as the Standard K.1 plug for preignition, but does not seem to be so good for slow running. We are returning the LK. {L. King} 1 plugs to you. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
