MAYBACH 12-CYLINDER CAR.

We recommended to R.{Sir Henry Royce} that we should purchase one of these cars. He thought we could not afford it but after E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} had also recommended we should purchase one he agreed we should get one with an enclosed body.
We think it is important we try and obtain one as soon as possible. It will help the gear box job because the Maybach has the most simple and satisfactory scheme we have yet tried.
Rn.{Mr Robinson} who is at the Paris show was going to make enquiries there. In the meantime we recommend we get Von Winterfeldt in Germany to see what terms and deliveries he can obtain. It might be more economical to purchase a car in Germany and bring it into England on a tryptyque (not pay duty), we can keep it for three months and then return it to be sold. The car should fetch a higher price in Germany.
Now we have decided to purchase, the quicker we get hold of it the better.
