X.3926. RE GOODYEAR TYRES.

In the Autumn of last year we were very interested in connection with the size and type of tyre to be used on the American Chassis, and after an interview with the Goodyear Tyre Co. we persuaded them to supply us with one set of rims, 32/4½ and one set of tyres, 5 in number, 33/5. I have received the attached letter (Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}) from the Goodyear Tyre Co.

There has been considerable delay and I believe we now have some Goodyear Tyres on test which have been delivered direct from America, but it would perhaps be best to obtain these which were arranged for as described. If Mr. Hives thinks there is no need for these tyres, presumably we should point out to Messrs. Goodyear that the delay (the matter was arranged at the end of September) has been so great that we have since had obtained and have/on test for some time identical tyres obtained direct from America.
