Westwood, Crowborough, Sussex, 31st August 1912. My dear C.J., I shall be glad if you will have tested the difference in the behaviour of a car climbing one of the mountain passes with reference to the quantity of water boiled away by:- (1) Using ordinary closed bonnet. (2) Using bonnet fitted with shutters or louvrres. (3) Entirely removing the bonnet. (4) Removing the filling-in under the dash board with completely enclosed bonnet. (5) Removing the filling-in under the dash board with louvrred bonnet. All or any of these experiments would be interesting. The louvrred bonnet might be sent from the Works at once suitable for one of the cars preferably the low geared limousine with which most of the testing has been done. Yours sincerely, R | ||
