Dear Sirs, We have taken the liberty of sending you some of the latest type 3N and 4N fully insulated resistors. The units have ratings and characteristics as detailed on the attached sheet and have injection ceramic sealed ends. This feature makes them almost unaffected by humidity and mechanically perfect. You will find that generally the end connection wire fractures at about 50/80 lbs. pull with the assembly untouched. The unit is, as before, colour coded with circular bands which ensures clearer definition of the coding, and with the full insulation it offers, is quite safe up to 3000 v.{VIENNA} RMS for insulation tests. The 1/3 or ¼ watt size, although nominally rated at this wattage, has a continuous guaranteed rating of ½ watt with an overload guarantee of 0.7 watts under ambient conditions of 40°C. The size of this unit is only 0.220" dia. by 7/16" long.
