-2- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}6/KW.23.11.34. When disengaging 2nd gear we have noticed that air and oil displaced by the sliding piece cannot easily escape when the outer member is in contact with the 1st speed pinion locating plate, either grooves or escape holes being required. When the box is dismantled we shall find out whether lack of clearance or malalignment is responsible for 2nd speed jumping out or whether design modifications are required. Considerable slack has developed in the 3rd motion shaft, the 2nd speed wheel working backwards and forwards under change of torque. The engagement of 1st and reverse gears at rest or moving we consider entirely satisfactory. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
