Bentley Publicity.

Cxll/KW23.3.39.

You will remember that in Cx {Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} 4/KW25.1.39 I wrote you on the subject of Article No.3, or a second article for the Autocar, and in your reply you indicated that about the end of March, or early April, you hoped to be in a position to deal with this in connection with road tests at Chateauroux.

In speaking to Gry. {Shadwell Grylls} to-day, in your absence, I ascertained that all you would have at Chateauroux in the near future would be B.V and B.50, and it does not seem to me to be possible for you to have Press people over there with these cars which are on the Secret list.

Possibly therefore you have in mind some other form of data for Article No.3, which will help to keep up the Bentley publicity and continue to direct the limelight on to it, in the hope that it may influence sales during the rest of this year.

Will you please let me know, so that I can approach the Autocar to see whether they would like to have the article on whatever you suggest. Possibly you prepared the way for the second Autocar article when Mr.Tombs was with you originally.

Cx. {Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}
