BRAKES The brake mechanism specified for 3.B.IV., with the exception of the oiling scheme on the rear axle, is standard. The servo motor is similar to several others which have satisfactorily done 15,000 miles, and it has been standardised. Yet obviously the front brakes are doing very little work and the rear brakes are very efficient. As the car has now left England, we cannot help you to discover the reason for this peculiarity but no doubt you will be able to determine it yourself. The brakes will need relining all round with standard material, and will you please have the new rear drums with increased cooling fitted, when they arrive. We would like you to get the brakes right before you reline them, otherwise they will only be worn out again in a short distance. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} | ||
