Bentley Bearings.
-----------------

Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} has drawn my attention to a recurrent case of bearing failure after a Mod.C. carried out at K.{Mr Kilner}

The car in question is B.31.JY - Mrs Duringer. It was attended to on the 10.12.37 having done 10,000 miles.

The mileage at the present time is 22,000. What I cannot understand is the fact that although a Mod.C. was carried out, the shims had been stepped.

The bearings are in a very bad condition. They have been scraped, which one can see, but the bearing surface is approximately half of the area. They have been tight and at the same time have gone barrel shape. To say the least they are a rotten job. We hope there will not be any more in the same condition.

Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} is naturally in a quandary over the cost question, also it comes very bad after the heated arguments that have taken place over Mod B. and C.
