Effect of temperature on dynamo regulation systems, comparing the trembler and third brush methods.

It has occurred to me that as regards the exact time of cutting in and cutting out that the trembler system of regulation on a car might give very different results from the third brush regulation. As a matter of fact, the trembler regulation would not enable the cut out to work any sooner when it is hot, but it would appear to permit the dynamo to give more electromotive force when the temperature was raised than when it was cold.

What effect the temperature has on the third brush regulation is not exactly known to me, but one would suppose that the time of cutting in would vary tremendously. greatly with the temperature of the Dynamo & cutout Kindly report upon this R.{Sir Henry Royce}
