YOUR REF. OUR REF. GR{George Ratcliffe}/CF

17th July 1940.

Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd.,
Derby.

Dear Sirs,

Ref: Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner}7/J.H.

With further reference to your letter of the 23rd April, we had a letter from you dated 23.6.1940, under ref: Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}2/JMS, following which we sent to you an example of our Twin Updraft Solex Carburettor 35 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} FFVS. and we have since received an order for this carburettor.

We are writing today to inform you that we do not hold any stock of this type of carburettor, and if at some future date you require supplies, it would take us at least three months to effect delivery as from date of your instructions.

We beg to enquire, therefore, if you think it may be possible that you will require additional supplies and if so we would be perfectly willing to take preliminary work in hand to minimise delays.

We are not seeking an order, but we do wish to do everything to avoid delay if you are to carry matters beyond the first sample.

Assuring you of our co-operation,

We are, Yours faithfully,
FOR
SOLEX LTD.,
