X4384 EFC 68 X.4384 X 4069 STARTER MOTOR FROM 2G-II. The starter motor from 2GII (school-car) marked 6 (or 9) was received for examination, from Mr. Warwick, on Thursday the 18th inst. Of the insulated brush holders one was very loose and the other had fallen off. The earthed holders were O.K. The insulation in use was of the paper base material, not now used. The brushes themselves were hammered bell shaped at the ends, making them stiff to withdraw from the holders. These are Morganite CM3, the present standard. On Friday, the brushes and insulation, were replaced by Mr. Coverley and the following day the machine was given an insulation test and a light running test and handed back to Mr. Warwick, as it was required for immediate replacement on the car.
