Test results for coil cases at 100°C, showing readings from successive tests.

Afterwards, the tests at 100°C were repeated several times in each case (except that of the stabalite) and a redmanol coil case which had run 10,000 miles on a car and had therefore been subjected to frequent heating and cooling, was tested with the others. Following are the figures obtained at successive readings at 100°C. for each coil case. A line drawn between readings indicates that the case was allowed to cool down in the interval. Otherwise it was maintained hot for about an hour before repeating the test :-

+ shewed higher figure on switching on, and sank to lower in a minute or so repeatedly.

The top line of (micro-ampere) readings gives the 100°C results of the previous table.

All readings are for 2400 R.M.S. A.C. test volts.
