BENTLEY V.{VIENNA}

Gearbox.
Sections. 6000, 6030, 6035, 6040, 6045, 6050, 6070, 6080, 6180, 5240 AND 7000.

The following are the points to be considered when fitting Ripplet gearboxes to the Bentley V.{VIENNA} Chassis.

Sec.6000. Flywheel & Clutch.
Use the existing clutch, clutch casing and external coupling parts, but note that on Bentley V.{VIENNA} the clutch casing is bolted to the gearbox whereas Ripplet is secured by studs. The existing bolts may be used, as the size and displacement of the holes are identical on both models.

Sec.6030. Gearbox.
The gearbox casting should be to RG.{Mr Rowledge}2140, which has the bosses for the Rear Engine Mounting to GCD.1249 and the bosses for Bentley V.{VIENNA} Servo added. Note that the bosses for the Tie-rod coupling have been moved to the opposite side of the centre line, and this will necessitate drilling new holes in the frame support member. Use B.V. Tie-rod and rear engine mounting pieces. All the remaining parts for Section 6030 are as Ripplet, excepting the rear end cover which should be GB.4835 DC. and is already fitted to the car, and it might here be suggested that should stocks of the Support Bracket RG.{Mr Rowledge}174 not be available, we could use the existing Bracket, but this would mean drilling a new hole for the Damper Control Outlet as shown on the detail RG.{Mr Rowledge}174. It is also necessary to fit the existing coupling to propellor shaft as Ripplet has a small joint shaft and Bentley V.{VIENNA} has larger joints.
