Copy of letter from John Thompson Motor Pressings Ltd., Beacon Works, Wolverhampton. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. 14th. April 1938. Dear Sirs, Further to our conversation with Mr.Leslie on Tuesday, we have placed before Major Thompson the position regarding the Bentley Frame. We thank you for having put the facts so fully before us and for expressing a willingness to pay the full cost of any experimental work which we may do for you, and in this connection will submit an invoice for £6. 10. 0d. each extra on the four Frames so far supplied to cover the estimated assembly costs. Actually, assembly did cost us much more than this, and in quoting you for six further Frames we are basing our price upon the actual cost of the Frames already supplied. We are extremely anxious that we should not lose the order for the 1,000 Frames, and we are thoroughly investigating the whole position again with a view to deciding the lowest price at which we could possibly hope to supply. Yours Faithfully, FOR THE COMPANY S.J.Thompson. GOVERNING DIRECTOR. | ||
