10HH & 1269 To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} c. to HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/RH.{R. Hollingworth} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}4/JH.18.7.39. Bentley 80 Water Pump. Will you please modify the pump at present running on the rig to SOT.112 herewith. This scheme is intended to try out plain Hoffman bearings in place of the sealed type, and the whole assembly should be packed with standard grease as used on production fans, before finally assembling. The spindle is made from an old Skefco race, but if it is considered easier a new spindle could be made. Hoffman bearings and Seegar clips will be obtained by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards} We should be glad if you would have all the parts made as quickly as possible and another water pump casing EB.4586 modified. We should prefer this second casing as the one we are at present using is scrap, but if none should be available the existing jobs will have to be used. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards} | ||
