To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Copy to DH.{D. Henderson - Showroom} Copy to EFC. X.3533 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} 32/CB/17.12.20. X.3533 RE "GOSHAWK" DYNAMO. ---------- We send herewith a print of "N" Scheme 691 shewing the arrangement of the Winding on the Goshawk Dynamo. There are two armatures indicated, one with 31 and the other with 27 slots, but with the same number of conductors per slot. The idea is that the 31 slot armature is likely to give the correct cutting-in speed, but we are a little bit doubtful about its maximum output, and it is thought that it might be preferred to sacrifice a little of the cutting-in speed so as to attain the output as in the 27 slot armature. The intention is to make both these armatures. There appeared to be only one field coil winding which would suit, and consequently only one is shewn.
