c. Mailing Dept. c. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Y4308 BY7/H. 17.7.25. July 17th, 1925. Friday. The A.T.Speedometer Co., Ltd. 20, Avonmore Road, West Kensington. London. W.14. Dear sirs, We continue to experience a considerable amount of what seems to us unnecessary failures of your speedometer. The faults in question are simply due to faulty design and inadequate method of controlling and dealing with little gears. I cannot see any reason why this trouble should go on. Apparently nothing is being done seriously to overcome it. I am afraid unless something serious is done, that I shall be driven to recommending another type of speedometer, as our Sales Dept. are pressing me very seriously, at the moment, in this direction, in view of the large number of complaints we have from customers. I have in my office at the moment an instrument which has given trouble, which illustrates all the points I am raising. If you could make it convenient for one of your technical people to come up and see me I will be able to show him precisely the faults we are complaining of, how easily avoidable such faults are, and would like to make a suggestion which would, in our opinion, settle the difficulty finally. The whole trouble seems to be that the design is too paltry and the workmanship poor. The general principle of the speedometer is beyond criticism, but the method by which it is put into practice is certainly not beyond | ||
