WRAITH CAR 26.G.VI. RUNNING IN FRANCE.

Herewith copy of a report received from I.M. Waller, in France re the breaking up of the mild steel downtake pipe on the exhaust system.

As you are aware we have tried various treatments to mild steel downtake pipes and have never yet found anything to stand up for any length of time. We therefore suggest that for production Wraith cars we should start off with staybright material for the downtake pipe and the collar on the expansion box into which it fits, and in the meantime continue our experiments with say, nickel chrome steel or a higher carbon steel. We should welcome your suggestions re materials for experiments.
