on the Vulture engine. (e.g. central stud boss on port side valve cover.)

Some work has also been done (Series VI) with regard to abnormal vibrations existing in the downdraught carburetter assembly on the Peregrine engine, which had been supposed to account for the frequent breakage of aneroids etc. A number of records were taken from various points on the carburetter of Peregrine II No.2.

The fundamental of the oscillations was at crankshaft frequency, and some information was gained with regard to the amplitudes at various stations. For the purpose of comparison records have been taken from a Kestrel XVI with the standard updraught carburetter (10.6.38).
