| contd :- -4- We are arranging to carry out tests to obtain information for the expanding type carburetter you suggest. It is proposed to construct a carburetter probably from one of the annular diffuser Claudels we tested on the F.XI. and arrange an adjustable streamlined restriction in the throat which could be raised or lowered to maintain a constant depression at the choke. We could then determine the variation in size of the petrol metering jet necessary to maintain a proportional mixture for the various quantities of charge drawn through the carburetter under the varying conditions of load and speed.
