206 Experimental Department, 23rd December 1936. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}11/AP. The Midland Motor Cylinder Co.Ltd., Birmid Works, Smethwick, Nr.BIRMINGHAM. Your Ref. Tech.Dept. FGW/HA. For the attention of Mr.Toghill. Dear Sirs, In reply to your letter of the 21st. December, since your visit we have had a drawing prepared shewing the modification you asked for on our Phantom III. rear brake drum. We enclose a print herewith. Will you please confirm that this is what you want. As regards drums with cast in ribs, we have decided that this would increase our production costs as we would still have to machine them all over, and therefore we will adhere to our original rib design. As soon as we have your quotation, we shall be able to decide if we want samples for test purposes. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
