Dear Sir, With reference to your verbal enquiry, we shall be very pleased to receive for testing purposes any hydraulic jack which you care to submit to us. The following jack dimensions are necessary to meet the present requirements of our chassis. (a) Phantom Chassis. Minimum height.................... 6.250" Initial lift (by hand adjustment).. 2.750" Mechanical or hydraulic lift........ 7.500" Maximum height.................... 16.500" (b) 20 HP. chassis. Minimum height.................... 6.250" Initial lift (by hand adjustment).. 2.500" Mechanical or hydraulic lift........ 6.000" Maximum height.................... 14.750" Our experience with hydraulic jacks to date, has led us to form the following conclusions, when compared with mechanical jacks. (1) Ease of manipulation - definitely superior. (2) Dimensions - necessary dimensions more difficult to obtain. (3) Weight - excessive. (4) General - all hydraulic jacks we have tested have suffered from oil leaks. (5) Cost - the higher cost of the hydraulic jack is not proportionate to its superiority | ||
