To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} x700 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth. 2/JH. 29.1.36. Bentley and 25 H.P. Engines! We think that we ought to improve the oil seals of these engines by adopting an arrangement similar to that on Ph.III. We understand that you have already looked into this question, and have concluded that the crankcase will have to be modified if we are to include the pressure equalizing duct, but that if we omit this feature the only new piece required will be a cover and a felt ring. In view of this we suggest that you issue a scheme showing the modified felt ring, but without the air duct. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth. | ||
