YOUR REF RM. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 1/R.

1020a.

26th August, 1938.

Mr. Robotham,
Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
Derby.

Dear Mr. Robotham,

Mr. Howlett has drawn my attention to your letter of the 24th inst., in connection with a visit to De Havilland's.

Incidentally we are well on the way with the manufacture of bearings for De Havilland, but your suggestion of coming along to discuss methods of lubrication etc., are really very worth-while and I have accordingly written to De Havillands to try and fix an appointment for the latter part of next week. I have, as a matter of fact, to see these people on general Piston Ring matters during the coming week and trust that I shall be able to fix up mutually the date on which we could meet their people so as to ensure every possible success on this job.

They certainly are very keen indeed on this new bearing and if their enthusiasm is anything to go by then we are assured of a very fair trial on De Havilland Engines.

Yours faithfully,
for WELLWORTHY PISTON RINGS LIMITED.

F. {Mr Friese} Blackith
Technical Manager.
